Hospital Sanichair

Anti-Tip Hospital Commode/Sanichair

Designed in association with NHS health care professionals Combat HCAI’s with two types of hygienic finishes.

Some years ago we were asked by a number of hospital professionals to design a hospital commode / toilet chair that would help to control infections such as MRSA and Clostridium Difficile.

The Commode needed to be functional, durable, easy to clean, designed to be used at the bedside and over existing hospital ward toilets. The Romachair was born as a result.

Unlike many other commodes available today, all of the Romachair range is manufactured here in the UK to the highest British and International standards. We are able to offer a 5 year limited warranty on the frame, ensuring hospitals get excellent value for money.  Commode seats, over seats and backrests are easily removed for cleaning without having to use tools.

Replacements are available should damage occur enabling the commode to stay in service for many years. These parts are all manufactured using anti microbial components.

Roma Medical is ISO 9001 and ISO-14001 accredited with only the best quality material and components having been used in the manufacture of the Romachair.

Romachair Hospital commodes are available in either an anti microbial plastic coated steel finish or in chemically polished stainless steel, with options of either fixed or detachable armrests on models 4730 and 4740. With such a high weight limit on the 4750 Bariatric version, detachable arms are not available.

All of our Marine Grade Stainless Steel (SS) Romachairs are hygienically cleaned after manufacture by a process known as Electro Chemical Polishing and Passivation.

This process is extensively used throughout the pharmaceutical and medical industry. It renders the surface of the stainless steel up to 30 times more corrosive resistant than untreated stainless steel.

The three weight ranges we provide cater for patients weighing up to 318 Kilos (50 Stone).

There are generally two types of toilet configuration to be found within the hospital environment. Toilets with wall mounted cisterns and toilets where the cistern is concealed by a panel or built into the wall.

Roma was contacted by several hospitals that had the concealed cistern design toilets and who were experiencing problems as their current commode chairs aperture did not line up with the toilet bowl, this was causing a number of serious issues for both nursing and cleaning staff.

Roma set out to design a commode that would address these issues and eliminate any misalignment between commode and toilet. The result was the Romachair CV model.

Roma also has the most extensive range of pan racks available in the market and when combined with any of our chairs we are able to cover almost any eventuality.

There is no standard specification for bed pans in the UK. Many hospitals use the disposable pulp version but there are several other types in daily use. We mention below the majority of those now in use.

Please Note: Commodes are supplied with full aperture seat and pulp pan rack unless requested otherwise.

It is essential that when ordering you identify the correct type of pan, aperture seat and seat cover required for the commode chair so that we manufacture and supply the correct type.
