Romachair

Anti-Tip Hospital Commode

Several years ago, we were approached by numerous healthcare professionals with a critical need: the development of a hospital commode/toilet chair designed to effectively mitigate the spread of infections such as MRSA and Clostridium Difficile.

This led to the conception of the Romachair, meticulously engineered to meet stringent criteria: functionality, durability, ease of cleaning, adaptability for bedside use, and compatibility with existing hospital ward toilets.

Distinguished from its counterparts, the entire Romachair range is proudly manufactured in the UK, adhering rigorously to the highest British and international standards. Backed by our commitment to quality, we offer a comprehensive 5-year limited warranty on the frame, ensuring hospitals receive unparalleled value.

Featuring removable commode seats, over seats, and backrests, cleaning is effortlessly facilitated without the need to use any specialised tools. Our readily available replacement parts ensure the longevity of the commode, sustaining its serviceability for many years to come.

In hospital environments, two main types of toilet configurations are commonly encountered: toilets with wall-mounted cisterns and toilets where the cistern is either concealed behind a panel or integrated into the wall.

RMA Health received inquiries from several hospitals with toilets featuring concealed cistern designs. They reported issues arising from their current commode chairs, as the aperture did not align properly with the toilet bowl. This misalignment posed significant challenges for nursing and cleaning staff.

In response, RMA endeavoured to design a commode chair specifically tailored to resolve these issues and ensure seamless alignment with the toilet, resulting in the development of the Romachair CV model.

Pans and Pan Racks

RMA Health also has the most extensive range of pan racks available in the market and when combined with any of our chairs we are able to cover almost any eventuality. There is no standard specification for bed pans in the UK. Many hospitals use the disposable pulp version but there are several other types in daily use. We mention below the majority of those now in use. (Pulp pan rack is supplied unless requested otherwise.)
